One step closer!

I am so happy the German cabinet has found a home! I only have one large piece left and that is the teak gentlemen’s chest which is in my garage. If you are interested in it let me know! *Pics at bottom of this update.

The large beautiful NuLoom rag rug is now available! 8’6” by 11’6” and so darn colorful. Lightly used in my low traffic showroom. This rug retailed for $600. If you have been looking for an area rug in this size, you know they are not cheap. This rug features a chevron weave of bright solids and vintage Indian saris. From pink to greens, cobalt, orange and red, it’s got you covered! Come see it by appt or buy it now on my website. I am having issues with the pics loading but working on it. For $100, it won’t last long! Message me to make an appt to pick up or see it!

I am thinking about my plans for extravaganza in April. Who wants a buy more save more sale?? I need to move some stock as my plan is to move back into my house storage asap- thinking end of May but I have to decide by next month. Appreciate everyone who helps me accomplish this. I try to be open on Fridays and weekends as my schedule permits. I have been interviewing for full time positions so at anytime I could lose availability during the week. It’s been fun but I need to get back into a job so I can help my kids with their education. Multiple things are failing me including inventory accessibility (mcm just not turning up in my circles as much anymore- the 90 year olds are mostly downsized or already passed and my boomer (late 70s) parents hated this style and had money to redecorate throughout their lives so they don’t have much of this stuff either unless it was leftover from my Grandmother. Also, the price of retail space is just not worth it in my area. I don’t sell ‘country’ and that is what people want here. I knew that going into it and was not putting pressure on myself to make it locally, however, online sales have been less than stellar. Heck, I have only had 4 orders amounting to $250 or so on Etsy since Jan 1st. That’s just not cutting it to support my space. I am currently working hard just to pay my rent. I have never paid myself for doing this and I give it my all. Working for free is a total drag. I’m over it and I am worth more. I tried. I don’t think I failed, however. I started this journey by buying things at the thrifts and reinvesting that money into more and better inventory. I have not once tapped into my own funds since. This business supported itself. I have become versed in so many things from touch ups to upholstery work and shipping things around the country! I know so much more than I started with and I built viable skills here. I will walk away with monies I have stashed if I leave sooner than later so that is why I am going to move fairly quickly on this. I will continue to operate online and via my booth and fb meets until I can sell down the rest so I am not going anywhere per say, but I will be closing the showroom. I wish more would have attended my events and shown support cause I really enjoyed using my space like that but time after time I tried and just could not get anyone to join me. Thanks to those who have shown up, chatted with me and generally made me feel like I am somebody. It means the world to me to have those interactions. Your calls and emails too. I just spoke with my friend from the Hamptons the other day who called to chat about some things he is looking for. I will let him know if I see any and connect him. Not because I want to be involved in the transaction, but because I truly want him to find what he desires and I enjoy him enough to pass the info on with no financial interest in it. I have been told I am too kind, perhaps. If that is why I fail, then so be it! Please plan to stop by before I close up shop and take something special home. I still have some really nice things in inventory. MESSAGE ME FOR AN APPOINTMENT and watch my socials for planned open times.

See below. Canadian teak gentlemen’s chest- think Magnachest only better. So much storage, I’d keep it myself but it’s just a tad too wide to add to my bedroom. Only asking $800 locally. See deets on my website. It’s awesome and a great piece for your collection.

A taste of Summer brings an end of an era in more ways than one….

The warm days have arrived even if they take a short break in between the cool ones. Super exciting! That said, I will continue to try to make appearances at the showroom for walk ins. Please reach out if you want to come by, I will try to schedule my stops there around your visits. My days of wide availability will stop as soon as I find full time employment and although I recently bought some new items, my overall feeling right now is to scale back and move on. The locals are not supportive and I am just working hard to pay rent. Not my idea of a dream job. So grab what you love while I got it as my choices will dwindle.

THIS WEEK CHAIRISH ON SALE……but this is DEPRESSING:

My shop will be on sale starting Sunday at midnight and I think runs through Friday. 15% off. If you need shipping, this is the place to buy. Instant quotes.

Chairish has announced that effective early April, they will be raising their commission to 30% (from 22%) unless you commit to $150 a month to upgrade your seller status. Not happening. I will be raising all my prices after this week and sadly, I need to raise them on Etsy as well because I often have to send Etsy shoppers to Chairish and I will not price match myself in a market that is charging more. If you are east of the Mississippi, I got a guy I can quote. Jackie may be back in May for west coast deliveries but I have not checked her schedule yet. I have other shippers I have used through Chairish and I do save info so I can ask around as well.

I have another interview this week so fingers crossed I land it and can finally help out financially around here. I need a new car, mine is 8 and acting funny but I still need to keep her around while I got bigger inventory.

I am down to 2 large case pieces…..the Canadian teak gentlemen’s chest which is a few inches too big for my bedroom or I’d be moving it up there……when you start to realize that you will be done buying like you have and have still have really nice pieces in stock, the intrinsic value of hoarding it for yourself is better than my giveaway price in the open market. 😂. But alas, it’s not mean’t to be for me. The other large piece is the German Shrunk, a grand European atomic piece with lots of storage and it is in the showroom so will need to move along before I move out. If anyone is local and can pick up and pay cash, I am willing to listen to our offer. If you are in the Philly region, I could assist with transport. Each piece fits in my van but I made several trips to get her into the showroom. Think about it and let me know!

I just added a fun retro mini bar set with 3 stools to the showroom. It’ll be a great piece for summer gatherings! Add her to your rec room or man cave! Specs on my website for buy it now or come see it in person by appointment.

If you are not looking for furniture, I have lots of hand sewn pillows, fabrics and more. Things have been trickling out but not fast enough. I appreciate all of your support and I hope you continue to think of me as I downsize and try to get the rest of my inventory out. I have listed some of my collection which includes a few early Herman Miller pieces and a really nice Peabody fiberglass wing back chair. If you’d like to add any of these icons to your collection, I am here for you. I also have many restored things needing special homes as I have invested into making them gorgeous! My booth is pumped with collectibles, weird and some clearance or lower end furniture items. I have a super cute walnut dining set for 2 looking for a first apartment or young stylish couple. Fresh fabric on the seats! Priced to move at $150.

One last thing. I am Hail Mary working Yelp with some free money advertising they gave me. Maybe I am failing because no one knows I am here? If you can please find me on Yelp and leave your review of my services, that may help. I currently have 0 reviews! Thank you for your help!

Have a great spring!

Decorator and Upholstery Fabrics SAMPLE SALE!

Are you a crafter, creator or small goods upholsterer? I got some great fabrics available and welcome you to come see them! I have picked them up from a ‘to the trade’ showroom and the panels are approx 3 yards each, finished edges and you can put them through a curtain rod as they are or take the stitching out. They can be cut up for small projects. No two panels are alike and fabrics range from gorgeous appliquéd sheers and drapery weight to heavier weight upholstery. As a historian of all things, I have sorted the panels and included all matching swatches and info sheets that include fabric content, cleaning, and pertinent info. No guessing! You know what you got, how to use and what the line and color way is! Great for advertising your finished project if you sell them. Along with this, I have mass quantities of swatches in rainbows of colors and textures. I will slowly get things cataloged and listed on Etsy but shop now for best selection. While I pulled a few things out for my own future projects, there are many great pieces! Dining chair seats? I got you! Pillows? Yep. Come see and be inspired to create some fun things for your home. This is a luxury brand only available to the trade. Worth way more than I am asking, as I do pass my savvy buying and acquiring on to you lucky people.

$40 each approx 3 yard panel- includes all color matched swatches and product info sheet
