Fall happenings.

After a wild week of getting ready and then moving spaces, I am all settled into my new space at Fleetwood Antique Mall! I am thrilled with the new space and everything went together very smoothly. Seeing the day bed set up and looking fabulous has made me love it even more! Try to make it over and see it if you are in the area. I am offering it at my rock bottom price at the mall. I do have another daybed ready for restoration as well, you can find it on my website, madmodworldvintage.com under DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH. Here are some pics of the new space. 

I went with a college theme and I think the daybed is a great accessory. It is extremely comfy with all new cushions. I left a little paper with info on the piece you can read about what was done.  

I have a great selection of Halloween items (not vintage) which I hope everyone enjoys! I love being able to offer fun things locally!

Next up! I am officially registered as a vendor for Pyrex and Vintage Fest on September 30th in Havre De Grace, MD.  There are about 50 vendors expected to be setting up along the street outside JoRetro vintage shop.  Last year was a lot of fun and I expect this year to be even larger! If you enjoy pyrex and Comradery from like minded old souls, you will be in heaven.  Havre De Grace is an adorable town and an easy drive from PA, NJ, MD and D.C. I will be packing a bunch of pyrex which I think I will be blowing out flat pricing so stop by and see if I have anything you need. I am up for orders so if you are hitting the fest and would like me to bring something for you please message me!  I think I will be bringing the cafe set and afew summer left overs and offering af clearance pricing.  Would love to squeeze some furniture in the van! My bestie will be coming along to help and will have lots of vinyl to poke through.  

Sad day, but I sold my violin that was listed all summer and looking for a new home. That said, I will soon start collecting the Adrian Pearsall items that were offered to me by a friend of a friend. I am excited to dig in there and make them beautiful again! Here is another peek!  

These 4 pieces will probably be my first pick ups. The table glass on the coffee table may need to be replaced but otherwise, they are ready to go with some cleaning and maybe a repair or two.  I love the Havana chair and ottoman. Tempted to keep that one! 💕 

I will most likely ofer AS IS or RESTORED pricing. If you want to handle your own restoration, that is fine by me but I would love to coordinate that for you! 

At this point, I am planning on restoring this couch for my own living room!  Just need to convince the husband it's time to ditch our sectional. 😆 

Speak up if there is something you are interested in as I would accommodate you when I select what's next. Due to my budget restrictions, restorations would require 50% deposit to start, balance due on delivery. None of the upholstered items are usable as is and I have not inspected the strapping supports which may also need replaced.

Thanks for your support!  I will probably not check anymore until after vacation.  We have a lot of packing to do!  Our agenda includes living in our 1989 VW Vanagon for 10 days.  We will be camping in the Moose River Plains of the western Adirondacks and ending up at the moe.down music festival in Turin, NY. Cannot wait and hoping for some moose, loons and other great wildlife spotting!

I will be quiet the next few weeks due to vacation but just added a quick sale to encourage some sales before I leave. Hoppy Easter, Berks County Area Thrifting and Shopping Guide.

Have a great holiday to those celebrating!  I had a busy week! The McCobb bench is on it's way to Chicago and the lucite and brass table is packed and being picked up next Wednesday.  That said, we did not ship the 52" glass top and my buyer is replacing with a larger one.  If you are regional to me and need a round glass top and this 1/2" thick beauty will do, $100 and it is yours.  Let me know!  

​Spring shopping here in Berks County and into Lancaster county is picking up and in a few weeks there is a big Extravaganza weekend.  ​You will want to come by Renninger's Kutztown renningers.net for Thurs, Friday, Saturday shopping the weekend of April 27, 28 and 29th, then head to Adamstown Sunday 30th.  I don't find tons of mcm furniture at these events but there are great finds to be had.  Here's some lists of area thrifts in case you can make it to our area.

ADAMSTOWN

just south of Reading is Antique Mecca in ADAMSTOWN. Prices are high here but it is worth picking around. I have found deals! Definitely check out Mad Hatter Antiques as there is the most kick ass MCM booth in the back with the most CatherineHolm you will ever see! You can pick up a map there for all area stores. I have never done more that 2 in a day and you could seriously spend days there. In the summer, nearby Shrupps Grove has become my favorite flea market. I think they are closed for the season now.

​You could say I just shared my shopping secrets with you, but I assure you, these days I am shopping estate sales and people are connecting me to others selling so no worries, they are no secret! 😜✌️ 

i will be headed to Maryland once again for the MidAtlantic Pyrex Swap near Baltimore.  Had a blast last year and looking forward to seeing folks I know, fellow dealers and make new friends.  It is a fun trip and hope to find a few more snowflakes I need for my collection, make some trades and come home with some fun stuff.  ​

Our Saturday space at Columbus Flea in NJ last weekend. 

A friend and I just sold some stuff at the Columbus Flea Market in Columbus, NJ near Trenton.  It was a huge market, Sunday being the better day.  If you are in the region it is a great day trip.  ​

Spring into redecorating!

I hope we have seen the last of our snow!  It's been a long winter and I am ready for spring.  Certainly most of you feel the same! What better way to make your spring cleaning special than to add a key new piece to your home?  I am stocked with some real nice items and have many in my restoration queue!  My newest acquisition is not mid century! In fact, it is fairly recent.  A discontinued showroom model.  This amazing sofa is from Schnadig Furniture, a company that has stood the test of time!  Known for their high end pieces since the late 1800's, this recent production is hands down a fine piece.  I picked it up because as I am connecting more and more with interior designers, my eye is also connecting to pieces of interest to them and my clients.  A bit larger in scale than 50s era furnishings, I enjoy the curved shape and lack of arms.  The back is as beautiful as the front and this piece would do well in a home or office setting.  Over stuffed and comfy, it comes with a set of pillows but I envision it meshing well with cow hide or even animal print,  the natural tan weave upholstery reminds me of an oasis and contrasts nicely with the dark mahogany finish. This piece was never used in a home. The upholstery is perfect and there are some minor bumps and bruises on the finish from handling that I will tend to before delivery.  It will be available in my chairish shop shortly for those who need freight shipping. Reach out if I can get you a Deliveright quote for the Mid Atlantic and the Southeast regions.  I will try to arrange local delivery myself but will need my husband and our Vanagon to accommodate so the stars will have to align!

A stunning piece!  The ample throw pillows are nice but I envision this piece with some wild throws!  How about you?

The back is gorgeous.  The details in this piece are great.  It is worth much more than what I am selling it for. If you have shopped for high end new furniture lately, I am sure you will agree!   

Here's a pic so you can really see the curve! Shown with a great Milo Baughman knock off revolving glass top table (also available but not listed)  if you are into the brass Baughman designs, this piece fits that role perfect! Even a fab Hollywood regency glass top table! Ooh la la!

KITSCHY KITCHEN FIND

Also just listed!  Fabulous mod iron daisy kitchen light.  This fun light will make a great focal point over a dinette set!  Painted surface features a glass globe.  It is on very good cobdition with only some minor wear and tear.  It will be checked for shorts before it leaves here.  Reach out if interested in a shipping quote before you check out!

It is all metal including the white shade and daisy accents.  Globe is glass. 

The light will be checked with a multimeter for shorts and nuts wil be installed in the bare wires so you can easily install at your home. 

i am off to hopefully make some progress on my weaving.  First chair is all glued up and waiting for a seat! I also just received a glass shade for another pole lamp we are working on.   My living room has been taken over with projects! Have a great week!
